Head Above Water is a popular acoustic duo based out of Southwest Florida that plays all over the state and beyond. They play popular Rock, Pop, Alternative, and Country hits, (toe tapping, sing along and dance), from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, to today and are song writers. The duo receives rave reviews from the venues and their patrons. The duo does not use drum machines or backing tracks. Everything is played live and has a full rich sound that complements their performances.
The Singer (also plays percussion-cajon in the duo), Jon Weigand, is a multi-instrumentalist, and a singer/songwriter that has published songs that are available on multiple music distribution platforms and has played in cover and original bands since his teen years growing up in New Jersey. Jon started Head Above Water in 2023, and since the duo’s inception, they have grown fast in popularity and is one of the most sought after duos in SW Florida.
The guitar player (also sings backups and harmonica), Lee Grimes, has played in cover bands throughout his life while living in Connecticut and California and has formal training in music composition.
Head Above Water plays in venues such as, Margaritaville Fort Myers Beach, Compass Resort by Margaritaville Naples, Cool Today Stadium where the Atlanta Braves have their Spring Training (playing both the Tiki Bar in the stadium and outdoor stage for pregame and postgame parties), venues and events from Naples on up to Sarasota, and multiple venues in the Florida Keys and the east coast of Florida.
